Legalization Requirements for Saudi Arabia Minimized

Saudi Arabia has joined the Hague Convention making them the 122nd member to remove requirements for legalization of documents by embassies for public documents.

As such, certificates of origin and other common export documents will no longer require legalization by the embassy to be accepted by customs. The change will assist US based exporters by minimizing the time and costs required to complete their export documentation.

Saudi Arabia committed to the change in April with the change having just gone into effect on December 7, 2022.

The American World Trade Chamber of Commerce (AWTCC) welcomes the change as it will improve the export documentation process for US based exporters.
